This Thai dessert is called “Kanom Thai”, which reflects our culture as well as the gentle personality of our nation. We can easily see these in dessert shops everywhere while traveling place all over Thailand Kanom Thai is quite popular as a souvenir for our folks back home. With the basic ingredients such as flour, sugar, egg and coconut, could be adapted to various kinds of tiny cutie desserts. Back then, Thai people liked to make the desserts in the rituals or auspicious occasions. In present, Kanom Thai has been the most die for snack for many people. |

With ingredients made of light brown thin crispy crust covering a soft cream like Thai meringue that uses egg whites mixed with palm sugar and a creamy dough rise before being sprinkled the stuffed in the pastry.
First called “Salty Stuffed”, orange stuffed with spices coriander and pepper mixed with powdered shrimp meat. Another called “Sweet Stuffed”, a mouthwatering dessert that is sprinkled with sweetmeat and grated coconut on the soft cream.

Besides Kanom Buang being served as a dessert snack, many restaurants have put Kanom Buang on their menus with varied recipes such as Kanom Buang Yuan or even Royal Kanom Buang that are similar to the common ones, but the fillings are completely different.
