A night in Bangkok is a night of fun and pleasure, a memory you will treasure. If by now its exotic temples and palaces awe you, wait till you get to the bottom of its nightlife, and you will know why some people call it the "Eden of the Far East."
Few cities offer as much as Bangkok does in terms of variety of things to do and enjoy after sundown-for both men and women. It is practically a city that never sleeps.
If music is your passion, there is a plethora of places to go. Most hotel lounges have live bands playing an awful lot of tunes. There are stand-alone clubs and pub houses catering to every musical genre- rock, pop. Jazz, blues. rhythms. Name it.
Truly, there is a lot to explore in this city of angels. This should be your guide to such nocturnal adventure. |

Patpong
It is two parallel side-streets, found between Silom and Surawongse Roads. While for men Patpong is likely to mean 'adult', for women, families and the kids Patpong definitely means 'market'. At night this teems with hawkers and humble stalls selling what is mostly tourist tat. A night market is selling clothes, fake watches and souvenirs runs down the center of Patpong Land out along Silom Road. At night the area teems with tourists and backpackers shopping for that illusive bargain.

Yaowarat ( China Town )
Busy Yaowarat road is Chinatown's main street, and has surely one of greatest concentrations of gold shops anywhere, reflecting the love of gold the Thai-Chinese are often thought to have. There's dozens of them, all dazzlingly brightly colored, and with mainly very good prices. There's also plenty of restaurants round here also, where you can get birds-nest soup, dim sum, shark fin soup and other traditional Chinese delicacies. In addition, Chinatown is truely a pretty interesting area to visit. |

Thong Lor
Sukhumvit Soi 55, is a road in Watthana district, Bangkok, Thailand. It is becoming famous for varieties of multi-national restaurants as well as trendy shopping malls, international shops, bars and night spots.
The road became a popular international gourmet area in the 1990s, with mainly Italian, Japanese and upscale Thai restaurants. There also many Japanese bars as well as local pubs and karaoke bars. |
Patpong: One of the world's most (in)famous red-light districts, Patpong is where it all started (Thailand's Go-Go culture) and has even been immortalised in a James Bond chase-sequence. The nightlife strip runs along two short lanes, Patpong 1 and 2 in Silom.
Nana: Three floors of nightlife activity around a central atrium. Located on Sukhumvit Soi 4, it is a cluster of go-go and beer bars in the three-story building Nana Entertainment Plaza. The first floor has a lot of busy and exciting bars. The second floor is occupied by smaller bars, often frequented by old hands. The third floor has a few, really big bars known for their girlie shows.
Soi Cowboy: Just a few meters from the Asoke BTS Station, Soi Cowboy is a cluster of go-go bars and beer joints. Prices here are cheaper than those in other red light zones in the capital.
Khaosarn: Often billed as a backpacker's haven, where budget travelers go for cheap accommodation, Khaosarn transforms itself after dusk into an entertainment center unique for its western feel. With its carefree, anything-goes vibe it's quite unlike anywhere else in Bangkok and, probably, the world.
Soi 33: Located on sukhumvit Soi 33, this haunt offers more upscale bars and clubs. The young ladies who welcome customers to these establishments wear fancy silk dresses or evening gowns.
Royal City Avenue (RCA): Royal City Avenue is one of the biggest entertainment areas in Bangkok. Very much a Thai scene, RCA is frequented by Bangkok’s young scene. Lots of variety of music depending on the bar you visit. Multi-million watt sound systems blast out Thai disco, house, R&B, and the usual American / Brit pop. Prices for entry and drinks are typically very reasonable, much lower than at many of Sukhumvit's trendiest offerings. |
