Nakhon Sawan Province, also known as Pak Nam Pho is where the rivers of Ping, Wang, Yom, and Nan converge and form the Chao Phraya River, the main waterway of Thailand.
The interesting attraction in Nakhon Sawan is Wat Woranat Banphot, an old temple notable for its replica Buddha footprint, to view birds at the nearby waterfowl park around Bung Boraphet. This lake is Thailand's largest source of freshwater fish.
Nakhon Sawan goes a bit crazy at Chinese New Year because of its large Chinese community, with an immense festival famed throughout the country for its Dragon and Lion Procession, and celebrations that last for days. |
