Trat (including Koh Chang) |
Trat is eastern-most province of Thailand. This small province borders on Cambodia with the Khao Banthat mountain range forming a natural demarcation. With 52 large and small offshore islands, long white sandy beaches and unspoiled coral reefs, Trat offers delightful scenery and a tranquil hideout for nature-lovers. The weather in and around Trat is very comfortable with warm temperatures throughout the year.
The city of Trat is a starting point for Koh Chang island group or forays into outlying gem and Cambodian markets. Those enthralled by shopping will be delighted as Trat has more markets for its size than almost any other town in Thailand due to Cambodian coastal trade.

The Aiyapura Resort enjoys a superb location amid 100 rai of virgin forest and tropical fruit plantations in Klongson Bay, in the northwest part of Koh Chang. Classically designed Thai-style pavilions tucked into the hillside offer stunning views of the spectacular coastline and nearby islands. The mature gardens provide added privacy. Guests can choose from the resort’s villas, suites or bungalows, each of which is elegantly decorated in teakwood with classical furnishings accented with local fabrics. Each room includes both a bathtub and an outdoor shower, giving a truly tropical experience. While the design of the rooms is traditional, modern amenities such as cable television are not forgotten. But nothing cab beat the sheer romance of watching the sky change color as the sun sets over the distant isles. A large swimming pool and a 30m beachfront provide swimmers with plenty of space to have fun, while the spa is the place to lay back and relax.
Activities: With such pristine seas and untouched beaches on the islands surrounding Koh Chang, resort guests should not miss the opportunity to explore the area by boat, or try their hand at water sports or the excitement of some sea fishing. |
